NEWARK THEN BLUE SKY AND FROST

I don't think I'd previously ever had a lot of success with filming in Newark but yesterday afternoon traffic snarl ups at roadworks reduced traffic to at best a crawl and some lengthy shots ensued with a pleasant mix if independents alongside Stagecoach, it was a pity I couldn't keep up the trend at Grantham afterwards, a desolate outpost of the Ukraine, Poland or was it Lithuania whose nationals plus poles now make up the majority of the population in this nasty shabby little market town. As usual the bus drivers were the bright ray on the horizon and very friendly. Newark's charms seem to attract few tourists albeit its a scenic outpost in the morbid flatlands of the East Midlands.

today the sky is clear and frost hard yet again, I'm going to clear all the DVD orders while i wait for the ground to soften, still some clearing jobs in the garden, seedlings will arrive this week, heater in greenhouse ready for them. All the bird feeders are stocked up again after calling at per shop on Northwich on Friday afternoon. Sue has stayed overnight, ewe had Gloucester old Spot pork roast, gorgeous taste and Mandy's pear flan to die for. Need to loo through photo stock and load up stuff for printing ready for Manchester onwards. Also need to get latest releases on Amazon. Should have the new computer hard drive replaced tomorrow, still had a rest for a few nights didn't I!
