BACK HOME FROM CARDIFF

on the way to Cardiff yesterday morning we stopped first at Merthyr Tydfil, a bit cloudy but there was plenty of action at the bud station and friendly drivers. As it brightened up we arrived in Newport, the route into the old bus station has been smartened up, the new bus station seems years away now hence the interim work I suppose. They have a new livery which doesn't really do the vehicles any justice, it looks nothing compared to the last one, I hope they didn't spend a fortune with some twit to come up with dark green and white. Yet again very friendly drivers. We then had to head to Cardiff waterfront for our hotel as the opera was due to start at 4pm. Future Hotels was fine, a bun fight a breakfast today at peak time though. Best staff were the non Welsh, not a country known for service . The Millennium hall was very impressive and the interior was even more imposing than the copper clad exterior look. The whole area around has been regenerated and at night looked the biz. The Meistersingers with Bryn was top world class performance with everyone ion circle giving standing ovation whilst stalls were obviously too stuffy to show their appreciation and remained seated. All in all a once i a life time occasion I shall remember all my days. Back home this morning, clear roads, blue sky, getting ready soon to go out for rose and Barry's 25th anniversary do at Bowden Rugby club.As for the leg, well mainly the knee, drugged up to the eyeballs, just surviving, docs and osteopaths tomorrow.
