NORTH WEALD A LITTLE LIKE ITS OLD SELF

It was a super breezy searingly sunny day at North Weald, certainly the number of buses attending was up on last year and we did better on the sales stand but attendance was still relatively low and it's not the event it once was. Enjoyable day chatting to many regulars and basking 9in the sun. The knee gave me no end of trouble Saturday night, managed about 1 hours sleep so how we made it through today I don't know, Mandy took over driving for the last stretch through the Midlands while I stole an hours sleep, knee now hurting getting ready for night time torture. It was a successful days filming on Saturday, lots done, covered Hemel Hempstead then on to St Albans and finished off at Harlow. Harlow was a first time for me amazed at the size of the bus station and at the variety of operators andf their old bangers ( well there were a few). It's a bit like a poor corner of Belarus, lots of Russians and Polish and poverty. Pawnbrokers was the most common shop, dirt, dereliction all around but through all that friendly drivers and no hassle filming. St Albans, its been ages since i filmed there , Unobus rule the roost which make a change and Hemel Hempstead still had a variety of operators, certainly its not all Arriva there. So catch up time, dinner, pills and a bit of telly if the football is over, get a bit mixed up between that and the tennis, England will have flopped out of both and that's without knowing any results!! Some North Weald rally pictures from this afternoon to start coverage. Editing will start tomorrow night.
