SOUTH YORKSHIRE BUS MEMORIES

South Yorkshire comes to our page for no other reason than it came to hand on my digitised negs process, I promise I'll return to the weekend in Scotland soon, it's just a matter of having time at certain parts of the day when I have access to various materials. One of the most common questions i get from EBay ( never really get questions from elsewhere) is how long do the DVDs run. This is actually answered on the home page of the website http://www.pmpfilms.com/ which once more raises the question of time resource. This for me as purely a shared hobby is very scarce considering the amount we produce. I am think about what archives to tackle over the coming winter now I've got to grips with the new editing software. There are requests for Scotland, I've lots more for the North West, then there is Wales and Yorkshire . The South West volume has proven popular as is Merseyside and North Wales. The sources of 'new' cine has dried up although there are masses of reels out there in black holes like Crich, Online etc. I am also think about our non UK material , mainly trams and trolleys of which there is a huge amount. We also have masses on old UK bus rallies. All this will also get shown as trailers on Youtube but what to do first. If a club or business could guarantee to purcvhase x amount it encourage me.
Last night I got Herne Bay up on YouTube as well as finishing the DVD and cover. Tonight its Immingham trucks last week and then the Scottish weekend, that should get me right up to date before the Balkans trip next weekend.

BUS COMPETITION IN SOUTH WALES

the present bus was in Pontypridd reminds me of previous interesting periods in South Wales bus battles and thus from the archive in recent digitised negatives some memories of past times in Pontypridd and Cardiff. Anyway getting up to date, we were really shattered after the drive back down from Lathalmond and the near fatal road disastour as described yesterday. There were lots of EBay orders and more from the new PMP shop on our website
http://www.pmpfilms.com/
We have been sending out details to all EBay customers who think that all our material will be on EBay which is not the case, our shop for very recent material links to our own shop and older items to Amazon shop. We are still working through older material as time permits. We are also often asked for running times , I must make it clearer on the website. Tonight need to get next round of magazine adverts placed. We are going to France for our annual pre Christmas trip in October which will save the pre seasonal rush which is so tiring. The children are back to school for the autumn in Scotland, hasn't the year flown by. We are getting builders to investigate putting in downstairs toilet and shallower stairs and taking house off the market for 5 years until I retire. I will carry on with editing tonight, need to do Herne Bay, Trucks at Immingham and then Scotland, there is a possibility that we will travel up to film the Saturday prior to Bridgton event in October. The Burmese elections will be in November which means our Christmas trip should be trouble free.

JUST BACK FROM LATHALMOND

Dundee with clear blue skies amongst the highlights of the weekend in Scotland. A hairy return this eveing when a car overtaking us had a tyre blow out and span around a few yards in front, frightening stuff. It was really quiet today at Lathalmond, all in takings down about 25% on the weekend, only probably viable now if we just go up on the Saturday and don't stay over, I think the fine weather kept numbers down as it was the last weekend of the Scottish scholll holidays. Had a reply on last blog with a diatribe from someone who felt I had complained about him, couldn't find anything that refered to something like that so really mystified. People seem to think you are a big business rather than pursuing a shared hobby, is it really worth the bother with the blog at all, better things to do with my precious time that getting slasgged of by some plonker I don't know. The fine weather continmued all the way back to Cheshire. It was good having a pint with fellow stall holders and with Pat and Norman at Loch Fitty cottage. The meal at the Trout and Claret was spoilt be being put next to the cheast with spare glasses etc when they had to keep leaning over us, othewise eclellent food there. East at the halfway hotel on Saturday, very filling steak pie, Graham Mitchell  thought the same. The Ebay sale is going weel, large reduction is to catch as many buyers as possible and let them have details of the new website

DOVER AND CANTERBURY TRUCKS AND BUSES

this is the last blog before  Sunday night as we set off for the annual open weekend at the Scottish National Bus Museum at Fife Lathalmond. We intend doing some filming tomorrow dependent on the weather, may be trucks at Penrith, buses at Dunfermline- we shall have to see.
Still getting questions about what I have and have not, the web site with list is
http://www.pmpfilms.com/ the old site is still up but never updated.
We have around 1000 hours of film still to go on DVD ex video releases, wonder if I'll survive long enough. No particular order that I'm tackling it although have worked South West upwards and across but then also done a lot of Manchester area, most London and nearly all Scotland. North East is a possible although a regional archive from cine is more likely this winter. Oh my goodness, talking winter already. I have some editing to do for 'work' this evening , the car is all pacvked and I've finished weeding the front borders, my back is standing up to it. Started booking tickets for the new Halle season, autumn is ever closer, guess we'll meet it at Lathalmond. What else, well isn't that enough, OK I've put a lot more items in the PMP shop via the web site, it will be ages before they are all converted from Amazon though.

IRELAND VIA STOCKTON THEN GUERNSEY

starts with a winter day in Ireland, myself and Mandy a few years back now then a reminder of my days working in the North East when I used to catch a few snaps at lunch time in Stockton. Finally a hint of things to come , Mandy and myself on our first Guernsey trip , again a good few years ago. Busy listing more DVDs direct from PMP on our website, now getting over 100 hits a day, http://www.pmpfilms.com/ the PMP shop is proving very popular, so easy to pay with paypal highly recommeded if you want simplicity of shopping. I'm removing many DVDs from EBay, those which have not sold a single copy on there in over 16 months. New clips going on Youtube this week, see Stokes Bay rally, Portsmouth, and trucks at Dover Harbour. Just collected stock photos for Lathalnmondon Saturday, most have never been printed up for sale before, hoping to have around 2000 photos over the weekend plus our usual specialist Scottish stock at a very special sale price of just £10 per DVD, never cheaper. There are a couple of boxes of reduced general stock items at £8 each. The regular stock should include most of my recent adventures up to East Kent providing I get the covers done. Raining today but hope to get some weeds cleared this evening, back much better , osteopath this afternoon.

CHATHAM LAST SATURDAY BUT NOT THE BUS STATION

Chatham actually proved to be a bit of a difficult nut to crack at first with gas main works all around Chatham, eventually I sussed out where i could film and got the requisite hour for a feature. Today I was up at 5am and headed over to Immingham for safety audits at Total and Conoco refineries. This all went on a little longer than anticipated but I had a late lunch hour filming traffic heading from the docks, always a very busty stretch of road with mainly trucks, it was windy and thankfully sunny. The drive both ways was uneventful but its been a long day. Ordered up new tables for the rallies after doing my back in clipping the old ones to the main stand last Sunday. I'm just running off Stokes Bay DVD, the system seems to be working fine, YouTube clip will be on this evening then I move forward to Kent programmes and also still need to update website PMP  shop. Might risk mowing the lawns.

SOME MORE HERNE BAY PPICTURES

another big thanks to the Herne Bay team including co-organiser Nigel Coupe, and back at Lower Peover the hiccups with the DVD maker have been overcome, how i know not and my back despite being stiff seems to have escaped the worst of the incidents consequences, must remember to take more care though. Garden is a mess, Mandy has forbidden any work on it, the woodpeckers are happy with the lack of disturbance. Weather up north was pretty grotty so we pulled off another good choice being in sunny ( nearly) Kent. Yes and I was born there as well, readers of my autobiography will already know that, copies are still available. The new PMP Shop on the net has had it's first orders, another tranche of items entered up today.
