DAMP ENOUGH IN LEEDS

Not a bad day for the first event, the bus rally at Elland Rd football stadium went quite well despite the poor weather although numbers of buses attending seemed to fall short of the expected target especially low on Leeds content although WYPTE was well represented. Anyway we had a fair days trading, rather cheesed off that the film I'd made for them to show on the big screen never even got used despite donating a copy and getting up at 5.30 am today to finish it. Good side was we sold all our copies of the new Leeds film and all this years Yorkshire visits, hardly any photos moved which was strange.
It's pretty well wet this side of the Pennines this evening, just washed, unloaded and resting. I should have a programme from the day's events on sale very soon.

DECIDED TO STAY PUT AND EDIT LEEDS ARCHIVE

some more of my tweaked photos from negs from the archive this time from Czech Rep trip, again I think they have come out well, thousands in the pipeline and they fill the gaps on a quiet day which today is. I've stayed at home to get then Leeds archive ready for the event tomorrow at Leeds football, stadium, 100 years of Leeds buses. Otherwise finishing editing the last of recent programmes omn Ireland and Totally Transport Blackpool, right up to date then. Miserable weather still.

BYE BYE VIDEO

some West Midlands buses from the neg to digital transfer, again they look good even from dull days.

still wet, cold and windy here. Its been manic with orders, probably because it's advert time in the mags, still not complaining. Editing Belfast as I write, it will be ready tonight ad orders cleared by Monday. We've got friend Sue around for dinner tonight. Got the car hires sorted for the Channel Isles in August. Playing by ear for the rally at Plymouth next week but be sure to come to Leeds on Sunday if you can. A sale on my EBay shop starting next week. I'll try and get Youtube Belfast clip on tonight before bed. Not sire of film destination for tomorrow, expect west at least.
I'm not putting anymore new films on video from Belfast onwards but all listed items for video remain available at present, see list on website

GERMAN TRAMS FROM THE ARCHIVE

some examples of my negs trimmed and on digital from negatives, not bad eh!

A BRIEF ON PROGRESS

I'll post some photos this evening perhaps, its all been quite hectic over the past 24 hours. After a month of quiet on the DVD front it went ballistic, not that I'm complaining. A lot of trade orders as well plus the hits on Youtube adverts seem to be coming along nicely, don't forget to hit a few buttons for me. Hoping to get Colchester 09 on Youtube tonight. I promised I'd get something on Leeds done for Sundays events, it won't be an oldie archive but perhaps 80s onwards from early video, that's if I get anything done. Mandy arrives home this evening from Ireland but the cleaners are in today sio it shoulsd look respectable. I picked up the latest batch of negs to CDs from ASDA yesterday, some nice stuff and plenty of trams. I wonder how John and Maureen are doing in Austria weath wise, its pretty miserable hear and forcast for weekend the same.

I've been clearing out lots of hard copy material on family history to try and clear some weight and space in the office and just in case we ever sell the house. Don't really need the stuff as much is just working copies and all is on the computer file Mandy has just phoned ( midday), the queue for the HSS is quite long and it seems much busier than when we went over last Thursday.

BIRCHWOOD DRIVE FLOWER SHOW?

last night I finished trimming and saving the photos I had put on to disc last week at ASDA, I'm picking up a large selection today, these are at Lyon and Montpellier, notice the new trolley on trial at Lyon.

yesterday afternoon in my garden, mowed lawns and trimmed edges then yet again it started to pour down, relentless, its still bad this morning.

the front garden looks fine, the weeds are nearly hidden by flowers now.
Editing wise I'm right up to Essex, just Belfast and Irish truck films to do and I'm up to date. Just need a few orders, most clicks to date on adverts yesterday which is encouraging.

IN FRONT OF OURSELVES A BIT

well here we are only just over a week away from my operation and going like the clappers to catch up on editing and look after myself while Mandy is still away in Ireland. Last night and early this morning I managed to get several covers done and am now ready to do Colchester and Southend DVDs plus Belfast and Irish trucks which will bring me spot on up todate. Its the Leeds Centenary next Sunday then Isle of Man filming nest Tuesday ( week today).

I've got everything listed on Amazon but EBay is still behind as it takes more time, I can't access the site from work. There is now a link to purchase now via Amazon on the DVD list although only about a third done, when finished it will make buying all the more easy from the list direct to our Amazon shop. It's still a bit on the quiet side DVD sales wise although better than past two weeks.

The flight back with Ryanair was good, on time etc, why do they make such a hash of PR with their prices on the web site which puts people off.Shannon didn't have any Priority Pass lounges, the third place in a row which hasn't, card not such value as we hoped. It's gloomy weather still and cooler, hope to get some weeding done tonight.

Working at just about everybody's family trees at present but with no major breakthroughs for a while. Still trying to cut costs all round and haven't bothered to rejoin several clubs where I have limited interest, MBF and Trolleybus Society for a start. I've still got a good chunk of leave left ad need to start finding time to fit in the South Wales trip. Scotland will have to be Lathalmond weekend wrapped around it and Hampshire joined to the Stokes Bay do.

DON'T FORGET COLCHESTER

Independents aren't so plentiful these days but still colourful on a sunny day

ok so the best part of last weekend nearly got left out, tonight hopefully I'll post on Youtube clip from Colchester , then I'll be editing Birkenhead and St Helens, plus tidying garden as ever between showers and packing for Ireland.

PICTURES FROM THE PAST

This Czech trip left us with quite a few anecdotes in the repertoire, I went with Mandy in our own car, France, Germany, Czech Rep.

I remember this bit quite well, I think this was a sunny Sunday in Plizen, Czech Rep.

I think a day might have slipped by since my last blog, well another gap coming up as I'm off to Ireland first thing tomorrow and back late Sunday night. Hoping to get truck film in Dublin and Waterford plus buses in Waterford / Cork. Last night we ended up at the three Greyhounds albeit it was quiz night, an acquired taste which I'll pass on. Today I picked up photos and discs from Asda, we now have quite good stocks on some areas plus they've done the first conversions from negs to discs which look pretty good. I'll then select the best, tweak them for composition and colour and then upload ready for prints, herewith a sample selection.

Hilary continues to make a good recovery after her heart attack and is now well and at home ready for the onslught of the Spencers this week, Mandy will stay until next Thursday. John Bishop is away in Austra hopefully getting us an update on the tram and light rail scene. I managed to get the Maltese truck film done last night which finished off Malta, I've posted Malrta and Gozo clips on Youtube.I got another email from my penpal Li in China, I'm sending him a copy of my book, hint everyone, lots of copies still around.
