Well last blog for the bank holiday weekend as we are off to Ireland early hours tomorrow.

The proof of the book should be with me tomorrow , so will start checking along with the professionals. The cover design is nearly done.

The sale on EBay paid great dividends, it lasts through to Sunday.

Leeds DVD from last weekend should be done tonight.

RENEWED ENERGY TONIGHT RATTLING THROUGH THE DVDS

still very much a Bristol affair with more views last Sunday afternoon at the Harbourside rally.

Tonight I felt a bit more up to gardening and the whole picture is coming together nicely, ever noticed real gardeners don't find time for garden shows.

Well nearly ready for Ireland, this weekend, weather forecast pretty rubbish, lets hope its wrong.
Just edited Hull trucks, hopefully I'll also get POPS rally DVD edited tonight. Then got Bradford and Leeds to do.

The EBay sale is really proving a success, have you had a look yet.

Today worked with publisher on book cover for A Smudge on My Lens. The proofs should be ready tomorrow.

TIRED ACHING LIMBS GETTING OLD PERHAPS

The super rally at Bristol harbourside on Sunday, the weather wasn't quite as hot as the photos suggest but the atmosphere was good and we enjoyed it.
The centenary of the Bristol chassis manufacture was celebrated and aptly we feature all Bristol buses here today


Problems with my car seem to go on and on, now it looks as if it will have to go back to the outfit called Sapphire who repaired the crash damage last June, they missed out several lots of bolts and wiring which has recently become apparent.

I'm still struggling to catch up with editing and covers, its been quite a busy day, the Ebay sale has caught on with lots of orders, we are having another couple in June, watch out for them. Nothing new on Youtube, no time, backlogs in everything although had a Guinness to try and ease my joints along with some Ibuprofen.

TRUCKS FROM HULL

Rushing around I suddenly remembered I'd omitted to show any pictures from my stop off in Hull last week, just near the docks, always plenty of action. It was really cold, the end of the fine weather



A bit more work in the garden plus clearing up the mess from the water board after they fitted the water meter. I'm still working my way through the editing back log, about DVDs to make before I contemplate the archives I've copied recently.

New buses galore!

Today we were at the Bristol harbourside rally, for a change we broke our record for trading at Bristol and it was also the best for 2008, we met lots of friends old and new and the weather was bright, sunny and sometimes cloudy but quite chilly in the breeze. The vehicle attendance was extraordinary, they had a job fitting everything in, very friendly occasion, a rally we recommend to anyone. Left home 5.30 a,m back 7.30p-m, long day and early to bed tonight.

By the way bargain hunters we have a sale on Ebay at present for 7 days with 20% reductions on selected items.

YORKSHIRE BUSES TODAY

today I covered Leeds and Bradford, new saloons for First in Leeds and deckers in Bradford so plenty of interest. Leeds was easy filming but in Bradford the idiots had woken up and then is chucked it down and I got soaked. We've got best friend Sue staying so no gardening tonight , in fact already a little worse for wear on Pastis before dinner.



Parked easy in Leeds and paid for meter in Bradford but it was actually free, England has some of the most confusing parking in the world outside Brazil!

Received Scottish bus archive film circa 1960 of Elgin, not a lot but thanks once more to Bob in Aberdeen.

POPS RALLY LAST SUNDAY

The tree lined avenue which leads to the Wedgwood centre at Barlaston in Staffordshirte where the annual POPS rally was held last Sunday, sponsored by PMP Transport films, and a better rally we couldn't have chosen as each year the vehicle selection just seems to get better. The free bus services ran to several location and the weather was a dream.



needless to say the weather has since gone downhill and tonight we are again sitting by the fire. After a dash around the garden catching up again I have several chores to do such as monthly adverts to place. DVD covers to make and DVDs to edit, thats just to catch up. Tomorrow is either Lancashire or Yorkshire. On Sunday its the Bristol Harbourside bus rally.

Our China trolleybus tour will be in April 2009.

GARDEN LOOKING GOOD

I dropped off my camera chips to be put on disc and printed but they weren't ready to collect today hence i haven't downloaded anything really new, we harp back to Valparaiso, the funiculars are quite famous but many weren't running


my friend John Bishop has completed yet another volume on Southdown for Ian Allan, he is doing a couple more before resting and having a go at a book based on his travels 50 years ago hunting trolleybuses by cycle around Britain.
Amongst latest releases are several truck volumes, a Stobart near Middlewich, I was spotted myself twice filming there by Greg Bubb.

Yet another session in the garden, its looking good, my back surviving. Tonight some more editing before the Three Greyhounds.

THUMPING ACROSS THE A66

trucks on the A66 in Cumbria last Friday, another day of fine weather although I was stuck in a meeting all day. Still not sure what the weekend will bring but if you can join us at Bristol Harbourside bus rally on Sunday and pray for a return of the good weather which will have broken by then.
Busy in the garden tonight, despite my back, its all coming together but lots of watering required every night. Picked up a few bits at Hills garden centre which is a poor experience and our local outfit the hidden Nursery is now the plantation with doubled prices. A lovely Califlower cheese and black bacon for tera, yummy. Need a pint of the black stuff though to wash it down , thirsty work the gardening.
Telly up the creek tonight, some blooming football match, who gives a damn, why isn't it on sky talk about minority interest, what a bout a bus night then.

OVERDONE IT IN THE GARDEN TONIGHT

scenes in Newcastle last Saturday morning, a very colourful place for buses at present and the weather was still perfect, today it started to go downhill as I headed over to Yorkshire.



I'm busy trying to get the latest releases edited and also still ploughing through the backlog of covers which require preparation. Not sure about next weekends location yet but possible Lancashire, Blackburn, Preston, Burnley etc.
I had a mammoth session in the garden getting the baulk of the bedding plants in, may have overdone it with my back, morning should see the truth emerge.
