THREE CHEERS FOR NUNEATON

well who's not watching the rugby tonight, not many eh, did I mention we received the new Trux Ansair 1954 Flxible Clipper model in the week, bit rough on the roof edge painting and one wheel hub not perfect but otherwise looks fine, interesting subject, the first US bus in 1/76 I wonder abeit Oz operator.
Today we did Nuneaton ( photos above) then Coventry, Leamington and Redditch. Three were non stop smiles and waves from the drivers, one we were ignored and had hassle from posh yobbo. Guess which.
Had super breakfast opposite townhall in Nuneaton, near the site of the old M Red bus station. Very much George Elliot town, names everywhere, nice people but little sods had pulled out freshly planted spriong flowers around the bus station, I'd hang um for that, not joking, what about the little sods who got off with one year for stoning a chap to death, I'd chop off bits slowly and stuff em up em whatever their age likewise apologists for their actions. Of course they knew they were doing wrong.
Anyway feel better for that, well done Nuneaton, most folk are obviously very nice, not like Leamington poncy spa, oops clue there to my competition.

SUNNY WEEKEND AHEAD LOTS TO DO

Well another autumnal day but sunny, so much to do, I'm making very good progress with the London regional archive DVD, the pictures are ready just need to add sound which can take much longer than images.
Also today managed to do some family history on Mandy's Nicholson ancestors plus a bit on my Spencer side.
Tomorro we heading for Warwickshire, Nuneaton, Coventry and Leamington Spa, see how it pans out, should have some photos for you Saturday night

OFF DOWN THE PUB SILLY CHESTER TOURISM

Off down the pub for a break, fixed the problem with the web film listing last night and still busy editing London 70s archive feature by George Roberts.
Today I almost made it to the end of the first part of my autobiography, all ready for publisher, about 233 A4 pages at present. PS there are another two parts!
Undecided about Saturday film location, any votes / suggestions.

Weather here in Cheshire going autumnal and wet, trips will become less each week.

Contemplating the start on the london archives to DVD, so many projects to get me head around and no help.

If you study family history ever thought how awful it is that we get our census info via Ancestry an Amercan site and have to pay them. one US site I like ( don't tell anyone though) is Tripadviser although the Sunday Times has a right downer on them. I find many superb rare hotel treats from their site.

MORE ON GLASGOW YESTERDAY

progress continues slowly on the Malta bus, lots of other projects wending through the system. There weren't so mandy stall holders from South of the border and our only other traders stated they wouldn't attend next year. The special effort and welcome or atmosphere of the start up years is hard to maintain with the increased work load at events.
Busy enough at work today, finally cancelled Burma at New Year, trip will now start Dhaka Bangladesh then on to Calcutta then Thailand, Laos and Cambodia , I think!

GVVT GLASGOW BUS RUNNING DAY

up at 4.15 am then up to Glasgow, made really good time, there at 7.45. The GVVT museum is now at capacity and fitting in visiting vehicles takes some doing. A mixture of buses including the inevitable RM otherwise all Scottish. The museum has a few Glasgow buses now especially with Kelvin Hall being moved so they've got the single deck trolley as well as the Albion Ventura. Weather held out quite well, good attendance and fair sales, bit tired, home about 8.30 pm.
Didn't England do well at the rugby, see what happens against SA though.
Got quite a lot done on the garden on Saturday, tidied up all the pots and washed down all paths and drives. Just LOTS and Boyle St left by way of sales this year, hopefully with the post strike being over orders will flow through in time for Christmas, we've just ordered out cards.

Hope to have the GVVT DVD ready tomorrow.

ANOTHER NIGHT OFF WELL ANDORRA ON YOUTUBE

Hi Folks, another cosy night with wine, food and company although I have uploaded Andorran Buses on youtube. Tomorrow I have a day at home making a start on getting the garden set for winter, thouands of bulbs ready to plant.

Sunday, hope to see many of you at the GVVT Bridgeton, Glasgow for the annual running day.
After that its all the way to the end of November and LOTS at London. Perhaps Coventry may feature on video soon. Lots of archive features to pop out during the winter months.

LATEST MANCHESTER FILMS NOW EDITED

Tonight I'm finishing off the latest two Manchster films covering lots of locations for Buses.

I've also added another thousand or so photographs to our sales stock for Glasgow

We are checking to make sure we have plenty of copiesd of recent Scottish films for GVVT.

We have had a request for coverage of Coventry, hope to get there soon.

POST OFFICE MANAGERS AND WORKERS MADE FOR EACH OTHER

Busy today with editing, nearly done Greater Manchester from weekend plus the wirral Bus and tram Show and listed on E Bay Shop.

The post strike goes on and on, at least they aren't losing anything if you can't post the DVDs, amazing how many vanish en route, hope the post workers like transport films. The management are no better, bunch of morons running it.

WIRRAL BUS AND COACH SHOW

a sunny morning and good warm start to the 2007 wirral Bus and tram show at Birkenhead today, also a reasonable days trading although i must admit we are both very tired after a hectic season. Next weekend its the GVVT show at Glasgow.
interesting line up at pier head, furthest Standard 10, this was basis for Daisy II, my hippy mobile in days of yore, then 100E Anglia like my mate Big Dave had then nearest Austin 7 Ruby like we had when door fell off on way over from Eastbourne to Bexhill way back when

GREATER MANCHESTER STOCKPORT SPY CENTRE

Friend Sue joined us for dinner and PUDDING as shown last night, hence a late start for today, lots of Fleurie wine. Well today a bit of a tour of Greater Manchester. Started with Stockport, lasted about 20 seconds before i was thrown out of bus station for second time, must be on par with Barnsley, the Stockport secret nuclear bunker or something using satellite tracking to spot bus photographers.

No problems though at lovely Ashton where the sun shine, Speedwell seems to be the latest new operator, based in Hydle.

GETTING RID OF NORTON

After a few days of nearly grinding to a halt I've removed Norton new Internet protection and downloaded free AVG guards.
Tonight I hope to finish French covers and then to edit 1990s Australian trucks.

WE LOVE DAFFODILLS

Heading across from Carcassonne to Montpellier the sun made an appearance last week and with a handy rest stop nearby we braved the wind and cold and got an hours film of trucks on the autoroute.

Today i went to 4 Oaks and got the bulbs in for next springs display, there being no sign of a house sale in the offing. Still busy at work.

ENERGY LEVELS RISING AGAIN

photos from Montpellier last week, the blue ones are the first line and the yellow the second which we spent most time covering, quite different in character it covers more mundane areas.

Well with the head cold finally relenting its grip my energy levels are rising and i can enjoy Mandy's coking once more, she could give the French a few lessons that's for sure!

Very busy at work but have managed to edit much of the French trip already and am preparing covers tonight.

LOST IN FRANCE NOT US

well I made it around Marseilles without bother, the place is so poor, so third world, there are old girls hanging around doorways just off the main road in the city, filthy with dog muck, weather lousy but there again no shadows to worry about! The tram was operating one route, actually sections of 1 and 2, the second was almost ready to launch.
