WORTHING RALLY NOT A BAD DAY ALL IN ALL

after being at Rawtenstall Saturday it was repack the car then early to bed for a 4am rise and drive to Worthing, the repaired car is pulling to left which was a pain, its in for examination Wednesday morning., yet another job. Hectic at work today, sleep well last night thoug, got home after 9 pm.
The weather stayed fair, even a bit of a tan, a reasonable days business which with Rawtenstall helped make it our best weekend for sales this year albeit no record breaker. The rally was rather drear, nothing exciting except seeing all our Sussex friends, lots of the photos were sold which was good and much of the 'local' DVD stock we took down was cleared.

The highlight was the Eastbourne PD2 shown above, very good rendition of the colours painted in the Eastbourne Buses workshop. Little of local interest on the running day, where were all the Southdown buses, only a couple of Queen Marys attended, there used to be masses of these with several in service.

ROSSENDALE CENTENARY BUS PARADE

an impressive selection of commemorative liveried buses , I liked the Accrington by Northern Blue best but other all looked smart, the Rossendale Rawtenstall one had an accident with washer in the week and had to be hurriedly repaired before the open day today. A quiet days trading, post strikes as well, what a rubbish year it been

Looks as if Preston Bus may be going to move in on Carlisle to counter Stagecoach in Preston.

Tomorrow we brave the bad forcast of rain en route to head down to Worthing rally.

ALL SET FOR RAWTENSTALL TOMORROW

Mandy and I look forward to meeting many of our readers at the Rossendale open day and rally tomorrow Saturday, the weather looks like being sort of reasonable. Not so good is the outlook for Worthing on Sunday but we do plan to be there.

The car was back from repair today, next in will be Mandy's Honda Jazz which has a couple of scrapes which need fixing. Next weekend we'll be having a look aroud Kent prior to the rally at Herne Bay. Hope to cover Eastbourne, Hastings, Tunbridge Wells, Maidstone, Chatham, Canterbury and Folkestone at least.

Tonight loading the car and getting stock ready.

SUNNY GRIMSBY YESTERDAY MORNING

yes a great morning at Grimsby although buses thin on the ground even at rush hour.
Today getting ready for our weekend in Scotland, last blog until Monday evening at best, a non transport weekend to boot. Perhaps I'll add the truck shots though as a parting pressie. Tonight I edited the Southampton DVD, to do Preston bus war and Immingham trucks.

PRESTON BUS WAR

sp much happening, so little time to tell, four new Solos went into service today with Stagecoach at Preston, I was in a meeting at Grimsby but fitted in Preston on the way back, the sun actually made an appearance, what a rarity this year.

Sandtoft Gathering has been cancelled due to flooding, we may attend Worthing instead.

Busy editing films tonight although relatives calling in as well may hold up proceedings, especially if the wine flows.

Local MP George Osborne spoke in favour of twice wekly bin emptying, thats him off my Christmas card list, yet more new neighbours in Les Halman's house opposite, there look Chinese.

Got the lawns mowed, never seen so much grass come off.

PUNCTURE CAPPED IT ALL

Fleetwood Tram Sunday today, lets recap, Friday left for Hampshire at lunchtime caught up with accident on M6, an hour before we'd got on the motorway, normally 5 minutes. Then clear run down, saw my niece in her ballet production at Fareham and nice enough meal although waitress dropped the tray and all the drinks, it was Friday 13th after all.
Saturday, mainly sunny, morning filming in Southampton, then helped my sister get organised for their 25th wedding anniversary do that evening. Left Fareham 11 pm , got back home just before 2am. Then up 6 am for Fleetwood, then discovered flat tyre, nearly went back to bed. The AA van isn't an exhibit but to change our tyre. Hope to get my own car back this week. The weather mainly dry at Fleetwood, not many vehicles of any description, will it be the last one everyone asked. Photos of Southampton tomorrow.

HOT AND STICKY IN THE GARDEN

The garden earlier this week, tonight car loaded ready for Fleetwood Tram Sunday plus Mandy's cleaned ready for Hampshire family 25th wedding anniversary Saturday, so you can see a busy weekend ahead, fingers crossed for the weather. The enormous task of putting Steve Sands films on DVD is nearing completion. Last night up in attic, thousands more Sussex, Kent area bus photos put aside for sales.
